The La Barre mine, located in Saint-Jacques-d'Ambur, France, is a historic fluorite mine known for producing beautiful fluorite specimens, particularly blue and yellow examples on quartz. It was actively mined between 1918 and 1966. The mine was secured in 2000, and access to the adits (access tunnel) is restricted and sealed with pressure doors. These specimens are not treated and are all natural, with the classic range of colours of yellow and blue, including phantoms.

Specimens should not be washed and must be handled with care. We suggest that they are placed on infrequently used furniture or shelves and display cabinets. They do not cope with being dropped, so we urge caution when handling them.
