This extra large, high quality old specimen is from the famous Berbes mining area in Spain 🇪🇸 

These specimens contain blue and purple zoning, with a beautiful stepped growth pattern. 

About these specimens and how they were mined:

These specimens were mined in the 1980s and are specifically from the Berbes Quarry, which this area was mainly producing building materials and coal and the Fluorite from this quarry is now exhausted. 

These specimens collected from the quarry in the 1980’s had more advanced tools, meaning that prospectors have a safer and slower mining environment with the right tools and all this reflects in the high quality of these specimens we have available.  In contrast, the specimens from the general are specifically mined from the mountain sides, which reflects the dangerous conditions these locations presents. These mountain sides means they re often of a different quality due to the speed they mine, the fact that machinery can not be used (due to access) and the difficulty.

Specimens should not be washed and must be handled with care. We suggest that they are placed on infrequently used furniture or shelves and display cabinets.  They do not cope with being dropped, so we urge caution when handling them.

These are earth mined crystal, this means there will be a variation of colour, shape and size. All sizes are approximate and vary from piece to piece.
